Purpose Beyond Parenting

Inspiration for living a purpose-filled child-free life.

This community supports anyone who does not find their ultimate fulfillment and purpose in child-rearing and parenting. Some conscientiously chose to never have children, some would like to but cannot, and some have had children and not found the experience as fulfilling as society promised it would be. Ultimately, our goal is actually pro-children and pro-environment. We want children to have good, happy lives where they are developmentally supported body and mind. And, we want them to have a clean and protected environment in which to grow. We believe that the best way to achieve this is to stop the unconscious, unplanned, unprepared, and undesired birthing of children into the world.

For those who feel called to child-rearing, we hope you have accurate self-awareness of your abilities and the needs of the planet. For those who know that their personality, talents, and goals would better contribute to this world without children, we hope to support you! 

Society pressures people into child-rearing in many ways. Some ways are overtly unjust and violent — threats to disown the childless, laws allowing spousal sexual assault, laws limiting body autonomy, etc. Some ways are indirect — constant questioning of your choices, disapproval, devaluing your political positions, and the default space and preference given to Parenting Culture™.

Your child-free life can be filled with purpose, happiness, and benefit to your world. But we need to help each other. I hope you share your joys and struggles with us. I hope you find understanding, acceptance, inspiration, and community here.
